Drishyam 3 Rs 500 Cr, Ramayana 1000 Cr: How Much King?

2026 Bollywood films box office

The year 2026 is slowly coming to its end. Amid this, expectations are sky-high for a few films that have created some hype and are supposed to bring some good news at the box office and for theatre owners.

The first in the list is Drishyam: The Conclusion. The title says that the case will be closed this time, and audiences are eagerly waiting to see how Vijay Salgaonkar will save his family. Advance booking has been good so far, and an opening of Rs. 50 crores might be recorded on October 2, 2026.

While Drishyam 2 collected more than Rs. 300 crores at the box office, Rs. 500 crores is being expected from the third entry. Now this record will entirely depend on how Abhishek Pathak has managed to provide an entertaining touch to the new story and screenplay without copying the Malayalam version.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Udta Teer has also managed to come into discussion due to the trailer, which had some fun moments. A new song from the film is already trending. But concerns remain for the film in terms of the box office. The reason is the wave of Drishyam: The Conclusion, which will force people to ignore it completely.

Then there is Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The trailer, despite receiving mixed reactions, has brought the film into discussion among the audience. The first song also became popular among the audience. Although a big opening is confirmed for now, the figures cannot be determined with conviction.

The promotional strategies have gone wrong, as the producer is frequently seeking the validation of the West and has hardly done anything to attract only the Indian audience. This has already led to a lot of criticism, and it might impact the size of the crowd that is expected to visit the theatres. Despite all this, it can touch the mark of Rs. 1,000 crores.

Gunmaaster G9 has built some hype with its teaser and the first single, which had Himesh Reshammiya’s vocals and took audiences back to the old days. Emraan Hashmi has become a hot topic after the success of Awarapan 2. More songs will be released in the upcoming days, and if they click, it might emerge as a blockbuster, despite clashing with Yeh Prem Mol Liya.

The year will end with Shah Rukh Khan’s King. Marking another collaboration with Siddharth Anand after the blockbuster Pathaan, trade experts are already predicting a bigger opening and bigger records compared to what happened in 2023.

However, Bollywood’s bad luck at Christmas after the pandemic and the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday six days earlier have raised a lot of concerns. But it is expected to start at Rs. 40-50 crores, which will entirely depend on the film’s trailer and songs. Both of them have to click with the audience like they did when Pathaan and Jawan were supposed to be released.
