The first half of 2025 has not been so good for Bollywood. However, theatres are hopeful that the second half will be better, where more big films are releasing, including Son of Sardaar 2 and War 2.
Both films are part of a successful franchise and have already taken a spot on the top 10 most anticipated Indian titles list on IMDb. However, Son of Sardaar 2 has taken over War 2 in the fourth spot, and the latter is now in the fifth position on the list.
This also means that both films are creating buzz among the audiences, and they might reach the first or second spot in the next few weeks. For now, Saiyaara is on top, considering that it will mark the debut of two new faces in Bollywood.
The remaining eight spots of the list have been taken by Dhumketu, Kingdom, Thammudu, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, United Kingdom of Kerala, Coolie, and Metro… In Dino.
While promotions for Son of Sardaar 2 and War 2 have already started, with the makers releasing posters and other forms of glimpses on social media, Saiyaara seems to be lagging as the producers have released only a teaser so far.
Expectations are still sky high from Saiyaara as the audiences have been impressed with the teaser, music, and the overall presentation of the two leads.
On the other hand, War 2 has created headlines for certain reasons, including a bikini shot of Kiara Advani featured in the teaser for a few seconds.
It is expected to take a record-breaking opening at the box office. But everything depends on the remaining promotional material and the response to the same.
Son of Sardaar 2 is also trending as the film is expected to bring back the funny atmosphere in theatres at the time of release. However, the comedy is the only thing that can help to make the film successful since audiences are already disappointed with Housefull 5.
