Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions has taken complete ownership of Dharma Cornerstone Agency following a mutually agreed restructuring with Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment. The move brings an end to the joint venture model between the two companies.
The development was reported by The Economic Times and reflects a strategic decision by both partners. Each side has chosen to pursue independent business paths while describing the transition as smooth and amicable.
Under the agreement, Dharma acquired Cornerstone’s 45 per cent stake in the talent management LLP. This gives Dharma full economic rights and operational control over the agency, though financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
The existing talent roster under DCA is expected to remain unchanged. Dharma will continue managing current artists and handling future professional engagements without disruption to ongoing commitments.
DCA represents several prominent film actors, including Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The agency has built a strong presence within the Hindi film talent management space.
With full ownership, Dharma is likely to align talent management more closely with its film and digital content pipeline. This could include deeper involvement in training, career planning and long term positioning.
Financial filings show the joint venture recorded a turnover of Rs 110 crore in FY25, rising from Rs 77 crore in FY24. Net profit, however, declined slightly to Rs 12 crore from Rs 14 crore.
Industry observers believe a single owner structure may bring faster decision making and clearer strategy. This could help the agency compete more effectively in a crowded talent management market.
Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment will continue to operate independently. Its focus will remain on sports, entertainment and digital talent, with clients such as KL Rahul, Sania Mirza and Manu Bhaker.
The move also aligns with Dharma’s broader consolidation efforts. It follows the merger of Dharmatic Entertainment into Dharma Productions earlier this year, signalling the company’s next phase of growth.
