Can Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika’s Flop Love Click in Hindi?

Dear Comrade Hindi remake update

Dear Comrade, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, is remembered more for the lead pair’s chemistry than box office success. Released in 2019, the film earned some critical praise but eventually failed commercially.

For a long time, Karan Johar has shown interest in adapting the film’s story into Hindi. With Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri underperforming at the box office, Dharma Productions is now shifting focus to upcoming projects.

The makers reportedly like the emotional core of Dear Comrade but want to rework it for a wider pan-Indian audience. While the essence of the story will remain intact, certain narrative elements are expected to be modified.

The film revolves around a woman cricketer who falls in love with a short-tempered man. Their relationship is marked by emotional highs and lows, repeated breakups, reunions, and personal growth shaped by intense pain.

For the Hindi remake, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Pratibha Ranta are reportedly finalised as the lead pair. The casting suggests a fresh take aimed at younger audiences.

With Karan Johar betting on a remake of a previously low-grossing film, the big question is whether this reimagined version can succeed in Bollywood and connect with a national audience.
