Kesari 2 Day1 BO: Danger Clouds on Next Films?

The reviews for Kesari 2 are flooding the internet, praising its storytelling, performances, music, and cinematography. However, the film’s Day 1 box office collection tells a different story.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, the film struggled to cross into double digits, earning only ₹7.5–8 crores on its first day.

Despite releasing on Good Friday, a national holiday, there was a huge gap between the critical acclaim and the film’s actual performance at the box office.

Due to these underwhelming numbers, fan expectations from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Housefull 5 have dropped significantly.

When a powerful and emotionally resonant film like Kesari 2 doesn’t connect with the audience or collect decently on its opening day, how can one expect a comedy like Housefull 5 to perform any better?

The reviews for Kesari 2 were monumental, applauding every performance, background score, and emotional beat. Yet, the film’s box office response was the complete opposite.

If a film like Kesari 2 receives such a lukewarm reception, a comedy like Housefull 5, which is bound to be an easy target for critics, may have little chance of succeeding.

It will be interesting to see how the performance of Kesari 2 impacts the box office potential of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming films: Housefull 5, Bhoot Bungla, Welcome 3, and Hera Pheri 3, especially amidst such cut-throat audience responses.
