Muzammil Ibrahim made news a few days ago after revealing that he dated Deepika Padukone for two years. In a recent interview, he revealed the ins and outs of his relationship, even talking about the ‘cute’ dates the couple would reportedly go on.
Muzammil said, “I was the first guy she met in Bombay, and she was my first serious relationship. I was in a bad relationship before that.”
He added, “She proposed to me but I broke it off with her later. I was a star at that time, she was a budding model. She’s a superstar now, nobody knows me.”
Muzammil also revealed that he and Deepika remained good friends a few years after they broke up and stayed in touch on the phone. He revealed that they haven’t talked anymore since her marriage.
Meanwhile, Kamaal R Khan, better known as KRK, took a dig at Muzammil in a video that has gone viral now. KRK slammed the actor by stating that Deepika might feel guilty about dating someone like him back then.
The self-styled critic also went on to state how Muzammil was one of those who considered themselves heroes back in the era when Deepika hadn’t even entered the industry.
He also went on to reveal that Muzammil also acted in his film Deshdrohi where he played the role of a cop.
KRK lashed out at the actor asking why he had the urge to reveal the details at this stage. He went on to say that Muzammil had revealed these details just because Deepika Padukone has become a superstar now.
KRK also took a jibe at the actor stating that even his neighbours won’t know his identity.
While Muzammil Ibrahim has every right to share his past, the timing and tone of the revelations do raise eyebrows.
Publicly revisiting a personal relationship, especially when the other person has clearly moved on, may feel opportunistic to some than nostalgic.
