Maddock Films has denied reports that Aneet Padda is replacing Kiara Advani in the upcoming horror-comedy Shakti Shalini. Recent buzz claimed that Aneet, who made her debut with Saiyaara, had been finalised for the lead role.
Media outlets cited unnamed sources suggesting she had already completed look tests and a photoshoot, with an official announcement expected soon. These reports also connected directors Aditya Sarpotdar (Munjya) and Ajitpal Singh to the project.
Speculation grew around the film’s timeline and its role in expanding Maddock’s horror-comedy universe. However, the studio has now issued a clear statement rejecting all casting rumours.
Through social media, Maddock Films said the casting chatter around Shakti Shalini and its companion project Maha Munjya is “purely speculative.” The studio thanked fans for their excitement but urged the media to avoid unverified news.
This clarification has cooled the speculation over Aneet Padda’s involvement. It also highlights how fast rumours can spread before official announcements are made.
At present, no cast members have been confirmed for Shakti Shalini. Maddock Films has not revealed the production start date or named its lead actor or director.
Until an official statement is shared, reports on the cast or creative team remain unconfirmed. Fans and industry watchers must wait for authentic updates from Maddock Films on the next addition to its horror-comedy line-up.
