After Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “India’s Biggest Superstar” claim for Prabhas, film banners seem eager to give themselves grand titles. The latest is Maddock Films, which has now declared its Horror Comedy Universe as “India’s Biggest Cinematic Universe.”
The announcement came after the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe crossed 1500 crores globally. The studio celebrated the milestone on social media, but the statement didn’t sit well with many. Users were quick to call out the exaggeration.
Fans reminded the studio that YRF’s Spy Universe had already earned over 3000 crores worldwide with blockbusters like Pathaan, War, and the Tiger franchise. Many called Maddock’s claim misleading and unnecessary.
Some fans defended the studio, saying the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe features entertaining films, even if it’s not the biggest. Others argued that boasting about such titles only invites backlash and unnecessary comparisons.
With Thamma, Maddock Studios reached the 1500-crore mark globally, but the film itself underperformed. Meanwhile, the Spy Universe continues to grow stronger with multiple big releases lined up. Audiences now await how both universes evolve in the coming years.
