South Indian actress Meenakshi Chaudhary has reportedly been chosen as the female lead in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming comedy sequel Bhagam Bhaag 2. The casting has generated interest among fans as the film continues the legacy of the popular comedy franchise.

Meenakshi Chaudhary is known for her roles in South Indian films such as Lucky Bhaskar, Guntur Kaaram, and The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). Reports about her starring opposite Akshay Kumar had been circulating for some time.

In a recent interaction with Variety India, the actress confirmed her participation in the project. She said the film arrived at the right time in her career and felt like the perfect opportunity.

Speaking about her Bollywood debut, Meenakshi Chaudhary shared that she was looking for stories that families could enjoy together. She also mentioned that she watched the first Bhagam Bhaag film when she was younger and loved the experience.

The actress explained that several earlier scripts did not connect with her. However, she felt Bhagam Bhaag 2 stood out because of its humour and entertaining storyline that could appeal to audiences across languages.

Meenakshi also spoke about sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar, who is widely known for his comic timing. She said she plans to learn as much as possible from the actor during the filming process.

Comparing herself to a student learning from a teacher, she said she intends to observe and absorb everything while working with him on set. According to her, the opportunity to work with such an experienced actor is a valuable learning experience.

She further praised Akshay Kumar’s professionalism and understanding of his craft. The actress said watching him perform closely would be a special moment in her career.

Currently, Akshay Kumar is completing another project. Meenakshi revealed that production of Bhagam Bhaag 2 will begin once the actor finishes his existing commitments.

The sequel is written and directed by Raaj Shandilyaa. Apart from Akshay Kumar and Meenakshi Chaudhary, the film reportedly features Paresh Rawal, Manoj Bajpayee, and Ayesha Khan in key roles.
