OMG 3: Why Director Rejected Akshay Kumar’s Sequel?

OMG 3 director exit reports

The third entry of the OMG franchise was supposed to go on floors very soon. Unfortunately, the wait might be a little longer, as a new update has now left Akshay Kumar’s disappointed.

Latest reports have claimed that director Amit Rai and the producers have decided to part ways after lengthy creative disagreements about the film’s direction. Insiders claimed that apart from the screenplay, the casting and the release strategy became major issues for the director and the producers.

Previous reports claimed that Rani Mukerji was supposed to be the female lead. While nothing was confirmed by the makers, the actress left the project due to certain differences with Amit.

The makers then tried to bring the film back into production. They opted for new casting and other things, but none of them worked, as the producers and director failed to agree on one thing in terms of the film’s vision and direction. The reports have now stated that the makers are moving ahead without Amit, hinting at the takeover by someone else in the director’s seat.

Akshay Kumar’s fans expressed their disappointment on social media, saying that the makers should have resolved their issues in some other way. AK’s fans also advised the producers that since Amit is out now, they can bring in Umesh Shukla, the director of the first film released in 2012.

Netizens believe that since Umesh was associated with the first film, he is well-aware of what can work in its favour, making the new entry a big success at the box office.

On the other hand, fans are also worried about the fact that since Akshay has already taken up multiple projects, the third entry of the successful franchise might take longer than expected. The ongoing situation clearly hints that an official announcement of the third part might not happen so soon.

Although the production will take some time, the biggest pressure will be to deliver something better than the first two films. With Amit’s exit, let’s wait and see if the third film will be able to deliver good content as expected.
