Hypocrisy Exposed: Why Only One Actor Gets Hate?

Fawad Khan’s Bollywood films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kapoor & Sons, and Khoobsurat have a strong fan base in India. Despite backlash from nationalists, the Pakistani actor remains in high demand.

After the Uri attack in 2016, there was a wave of aggression against Pakistani actors working in India. An unofficial ban was imposed, and Fawad Khan was dropped from future projects.

However, fans have pointed out that lead actors in films like Raees, Hindi Medium, and Sanam Teri Kasam were also Pakistani. They question why Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan, and Mawra Hocane didn’t face the same level of backlash, while Fawad Khan consistently does.

Even now, with the announcement of Aarti S. Bagdi’s Abir Gulaal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, strong resistance has begun in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena and MNS politicians have declared that they will ensure the film is not released in the state.

Many filmmakers and fans believe that cinema and other art forms should be separated from politics. Others argue that Pakistani actors should not be allowed to work on Indian soil. The internet remains divided on the issue.
