The Don 3 controversy is refusing to die down, and Ranveer Singh has now taken a firm stand against the industry body stepping into the matter.
Ranveer’s legal team has reportedly told the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) that the organisation should stay out of the dispute involving the actor and the film’s producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The team reportedly argues that the matter is contractual and should be settled between the parties or taken to court.
The dispute centres on a reported Rs 45 crore compensation claim from Excel Entertainment following Ranveer’s exit from Don 3. His side has challenged the claim and reportedly maintained that there was no formal agreement with the production house, but only an MoU.
Interestingly, the matter has already reached IMPPA, which is examining documents submitted by both sides before deciding what to do next.
Ranveer’s latest position makes the situation more complicated. He reportedly believes an industry body should not decide a dispute that he considers a private contractual matter.
So, instead of moving towards a settlement, the Don 3 controversy now appears to be heading for a bigger legal battle.
