In an interview, actor Romit Raj spoke about his experience with casting couch pressure in the industry. He shared an incident with a “top” creative producer who asked him to “do anything” for a role, implying sexual favours.
Romit said the producer dropped big superstar names and asked him why he should remember Romit, trying to intimidate him. But Romit stood his ground and said his work and auditions should speak for themselves.
He said though Bombay is a tough city, staying focused on your work and being smart about such situations is key. He refused to succumb to such pressure and said integrity and professionalism is important in his career.
This came along with Romit talking about his career, including his work on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and his past relationship with Shilpa Shinde.
Romit also spoke about his break up with Shilpa Shinde and said they parted ways because both were strong headed with different opinions and realized marriage wouldn’t work for them. He said Shilpa is a kind and helpful person but calling off the wedding was a mutual and wise decision.
