Sikandar: How Salman & Murugadoss Didn’t Realize?

As expected, Sikandar has turned out to be a disaster, both in content and box office performance. Despite being an Eid release, the film failed to create excitement before its release, and negative reviews sealed its fate from day one.

Directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Salman Khan, the film never managed to generate strong buzz. The songs, teaser, and trailer all fell flat, leading to a lack of interest even before it hit the screens. From the first show, audiences found nothing new, and critics slammed it as a routine and outdated film.

The casting was a major issue. Sathyaraj as the villain was a complete misfire, with his character failing to create any impact. The Salman Khan–Rashmika Mandanna pairing also backfired, as their chemistry was off and their scenes looked outdated. Even supporting actors like Sharman Joshi failed to make an impression.

What made things worse was the overconfidence from Murugadoss and Salman before the release. Murugadoss hyped up the film, claiming it had strong emotions and high points.

Salman added to the hype, saying the trailer was nothing compared to the film. He even tried to create unnecessary controversy by saying that his movies don’t always connect with the South audience. Now, after the film’s failure, even fans are trolling Salman for his pre-release statements.

The biggest question remains—how could they not realize they were delivering a bad product? With decades of experience, they should have been more cautious instead of making bold claims. Even fans are now trolling Salman for his overhyped statements before the release.
