Lahore 1947 is a film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. It is based on Asghar Wjahat’s play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai.
The starcast includes Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta – who is coming back to big screens after 7 years, Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal. Earlier the film was set to release in the first half of 2025 but now the makers are contemplating a October or November release.

Although this has sent Sunny Deol in deep displeasure according to reports. As his film Border 2 is set to release next year he does not want anything to damage his reputation on big screens.
Lahore 1947 deals with the shared suffering and humanity of India and Pakistan during Partition. Considering the tension between the two countries currently, the film might not get a good reception from the audiences and might get backlash for presenting Pakistan in good light.

This will corrupt Sunny Deol’s reputation hence rumours are that he is preferring the film’s release next year post Border 2 release. It will be interesting to see if makers will consider his stand or release it as per their plans, Santoshi has declared the film his dream project and he might not be willing t delay it’s release.
