In a recent update by Film Federation of India it has been declared that Lapata Ladies will be India’s official entry into the Oscars. But after this announcement a blunder followed that left the cinema-lovers totally confused.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar was the directorial venture of Randeep Hooda in which he also played the lead role. In an interesting turn of events, the makers claimed themselves as the official entry and shared grateful posts on social media.
This left the fans baffled as to what was going on. People were confused what to believe until FFI President laughed it off and clarified that only Lapata Ladies had been sent as India’s official entry.
Randeep Hooda has not made any comment on the whole matter but the producers of the film expressed their utmost gratitude towards FFI which was embarrassing for them later on. Netizens were angry for this careless treatment of the Oscars submissions.
Many felt that this carelessness reflects badly on our industry and shows why we don’t win many awards at the Oscars. It seems an honest concern as this chaos is not a sign of professionalism – if our industry doesn’t takes Oscars seriously why would they even consider us for a win?
