Rohit Shetty is undoubtedly one of the massiest directors in our country and has given some stellar films over the years. However, he has been facing a rough patch with his recent filmography.
Underwhelming box office collections of Singham Again were a low blow to his iconic persona of giving blockbusters. The film lacked intent and was far from his general genre.
Before Singham Again, he tried his luck with Ranveer Singh after their blockbuster collaboration on Simmba and tried to repeat it with Cirkus.
The film, however, turned out to be a disaster at the box office and was one of the most forgettable films of Ranveer’s career.
Trying to polish his image after successive flops, the film’s writer Yunus Sajawal recently shared the reason behind Rohit’s motive for making Cirkus.
The renowned writer stated how Rohit Shetty made the film to fund his team during Lockdown. “So, he made that film only for his unit” stated Yunus.
He further also claimed that Rohit himself took all the credit for the film’s failure and would never say anything about it.
The 2022 film was an utter disaster and featured the likes of Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma.
Whether the statements given by Yunus are right or wrong, Rohit Shetty would certainly have to pull off a miracle to give another blockbuster after his recent flops.
