Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan, is ready for its theatrical release with a confirmed runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The film has been certified U/A by the CBFC.
This Dharma-backed romantic comedy is being seen as a crucial comeback for both lead stars. After the underwhelming response to his 2024 action drama Baby John, Varun Dhawan looks to bounce back with a genre that has always worked in his favour.
For Janhvi Kapoor too, this film is important. With a string of her recent releases, including Param Sundari, not performing well, fans are keen to see if she can prove her potential as a leading actress in Bollywood.
Audiences are eager to watch how the two own their characters and bring fresh energy to the screen. Many feel that comedy is Varun’s strength, and his biggest hits in the past have come from romantic comedies and love stories.
The casting of Janhvi opposite Varun has invited mixed reactions. Even after Param Sundari, she faced heavy trolling online for her accent and performance. Questions are now being raised about whether she can handle such a layered role convincingly.
Still, fans believe the Varun–Shashank duo has a proven track record. After delivering hits like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, expectations are high that this collaboration will repeat the same magic at the box office.
Advance bookings are expected to open over the weekend. With release dates targeting October 2 and October 25, the film aims to take full advantage of the Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra holidays.
