Akshay’s Welcome 3: Fans Excited but Trade Cautious

Fans of the 2007 blockbuster comedy Welcome have reason to celebrate as its sequel Welcome to the Jungle is set for release in 2026. The film is an action comedy directed by Ahmed Khan and features a massive ensemble cast.

Akshay Kumar leads the film in a double role alongside Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Raveena Tandon. The cast also includes Disha Patani, Tusshar Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav in important roles.

In a recent interview, Tusshar Kapoor shared insights into the making of the film. He said Ahmed Khan has treated the project like his own baby and has worked extensively to ensure it looks grand and entertaining on screen.

Tusshar further explained that the large ensemble cast was required by the script and not assembled just for spectacle. He added that no compromises have been made on quality and promised that the final output will surprise audiences.

As per recent rumours, Welcome to the Jungle is expected to release on June 26, 2026. This would come shortly after Akshay Kumar’s other project Bhooth Bangla, which is reportedly scheduled for a May release.

The back to back comedy releases raise questions about box office performance. Releasing Bhooth Bangla first could impact the momentum of Welcome to the Jungle. Trade circles are cautious due to the involvement of writer Farhad Samji and director Ahmed Khan.

Despite the concerns, the franchise value remains strong. It is expected to draw audiences at least during the opening weekend. If Ahmed Khan delivers engaging content, Welcome 3 could become the hit Akshay Kumar has been waiting for in recent years.
