Unprecedented: Ranbir Beats Thalapathy Vijay

Ranbir’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ is making massive numbers at the box office and has already overtaken ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ even at its 8th day of release.

Now, the movie has crossed the collections of Thalapathy’s ‘Ghilli’ re-release. It managed to replace Ghilli for the second spot in the list of biggest re-releases in India. And the first spot is held by Tumbbad which made good numbers when it had been released again.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is a very successful film and its story and music has mesmerised audiences over the years. There are many reasons for young audiences wanting to watch the movie in theaters again and again.

In 9 days of the release, the movie has managed to make 14.45 crores at the box office and it also helped it to make it to the 200 crore club.

For biggest re-releases, Tumbbad is now at no. 1 with a huge number of 1075 thousand ticket sales. YJHD is now at no. 2 with 570 thousand sales and it replaced Ghilli that had 535 thousand ticket sales.

The movie will still have to make 88% more sales to make it to number 1. But its performance till now has been very enviable and not many movies will be able to achieve this feat in future as well.
