Actress’s Nudity Covered by CG Work in India

India and its CBFC have always maintained strict protocols regarding nudity or sex scenes in films. Throughout the entertainment history of India, a considerable number of movies have faced censorship, with scenes being blurred or entirely cut off, sending a clear message.

In Oppenheimer, there is one sex scene between Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh, sharing some intense moments. A conversation will follow those moments up and there, in the original cut, Pugh and Murphy were sitting naked.

However, due to censorship in India, the CG team had to employ specific effects to cover Pugh’s body. They skillfully made Pugh use a piece of cloth to cover herself, achieving commendable results.

Oppenheimer, the film in question, has now compiled a long list of other movies that experienced similar censorship issues. Even in recent memory, films like Gone Girl, No Hard Feelings, and Moonlight encountered similar challenges. Certain Indian films, such as Haider and Lipstick Under My Burkha, faced the wrath of CBFC as well.
