Less Hype Before Release, But Theatres Are Full!

Over the last few years, the market capitalisation of Hollywood films in the Indian market has been on a steady raise. We have seen several Hollywood films, generate substantial revenues in India in recent years.

However, we are now going to discuss about this one particular film that comes from a genre a bit distant from the Indian culture but is still performing brilliantly.

The film and discussion here is F1, which is based on the motorsport with the same name. While this is a global sport that is allowed by the western audience and is gaining prominence in the Asian belt, it is still a minority in the Indian market.

Only a small section of the Indian audience actively follow F1. However, this film, which is based on this motorsport is becoming a sensation at the box office now.

The film released in theatres last weekend, and it is running to pack capacities in all the metro cities. This is a particularly impressive run for a film that does not have any cultural advantage in the Indian belt.

It certainly does have Brad Pitt in the lead role, but he is also not as big as Tom Cruise in India.

The film does have cinematic brilliance, but the kind of reception that it is getting Indian box office is to be studied.

There is this obvious talk of a substantial section of the Indian, watching the film, just to look cool and burst with their friends. But nevertheless, the film is going to be benefited either way and the same as appearing in terms of box office returns.
