Amazon Prime Video accidentally gave fans an early look at Jason Statham’s upcoming action thriller Mutiny before its official theatrical release.
The entire movie was briefly available to stream on Prime Video in the US, despite the film being scheduled to release in theatres this Friday.
The listing appeared complete with the full movie, cast details, thumbnail, and official synopsis before Amazon noticed the mistake and removed it from the platform.
The accidental upload reportedly allowed some users to watch the full 1 hour 35 minute film before it was taken down.
The movie was never supposed to be available online at this stage, and made the situation a major embarrassment for the streaming giant.
What makes this incident even more surprising is that Mutiny is being promoted as a theatrical release instead of an early streaming launch.
There is currently no indication that this was a planned marketing strategy.
It appears to be a genuine mistake during the digital release process.
The film stars Jason Statham as Cole Reed, a former special forces operative who finds himself framed for the murder of his billionaire boss.
This is not the first time a major entertainment release has faced an unexpected digital leak.
But this case is unusual because the leak came directly from an official streaming platform rather than illegal piracy sources.
Now the question remains: did this accident hurt the movie’s release, or did it create even more curiosity among audiences waiting to see Jason Statham back in full action mode?
