With the announcement of the winners of the Golden Globe 2024 Awards, Nolan’s charm continues with “Oppenheimer” as the movie surpassed all others released this year, disproving those who labeled it as slow and boring.
As the results were revealed, “Oppenheimer,” nominated in eight categories, secured victory in five. A close second was Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” its main competitor during the release.
Their releases marked some of the most anticipated moments in cinema last year. It was gratifying to witness both movies performing exceptionally well both in terms of business and audience appreciation. “Barbie,” propelled by outstanding marketing, grossed around 1.4 billion dollars, while “Oppenheimer” captivated audiences with its cinematic brilliance and collected approximately 950 million dollars.
The categories in which “Oppenheimer” emerged victorious include Best Motion Picture, Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Performance by an Actor, Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), and Best Original Score.
Other winners of the night included “Beef,” “The Crown,” “Succession,” and “The Bear.”
