The new short film, “The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story,” gives us a closer look at Miles Morales, the Spider-Verse hero. In this seven-minute film, we see Miles facing a big challenge: being a superhero and a student at the same time. It happens between the first Spider-Verse movie and the upcoming sequel, “Across the Spider-Verse.”
Directed by Jarelle Dampier and written by Khaila Amazan, the film shows Miles struggling with his feelings. He gets really stressed out, and it all builds up until he has a scary panic attack. The film shows this by making a spooky shadow version of Miles appear, making him even more scared.
One big message of the film is that even superheroes have feelings and can struggle with mental health issues. It’s a reminder that everyone, no matter how powerful, can have a tough time sometimes.
“The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story” is a must-watch for Spider-Verse fans everywhere.
