2022 US Box Office: Poor Except Two!

Tollywood has kickstarted 2022 on a rather dull note at the USA box office. Barring two films, no other Telugu film could fetch profits to the buyers.

The said two films are Bheemla Nayak and DJ Tillu. While Bheemla Nayak made a shade over $ 2.43 million, DJ Tillu made around $553K. Both these films made profits for the USA distributors.

Prabhas‘s Radhe Shyam, which had so much riding on it is struggling to breach the $2 million mark and it is likely to incur big losses.

Bangarraju, Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu, and Khiladi could not create much of an impact at the USA box office either.

Next in line is the mighty RRR which is set to post record-breaking numbers in the USA. The film arrives in theatres on the 25th of this month and the stakes are high on the Rajamouli directorial.

As we had reported earlier, the Telugu population in the USA has gotten accustomed to the OTT viewing experience. They are stepping out to watch new releases in theatres only if it is either an event film or if it is riding high on buzz.
