418 Reaches Breakeven in 2 Days

The team of 418 expressed happiness over the response to the film, with producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar highlighting its technical aspects, while director Kirtan spoke about the idea behind the horror thriller and the guidance he received from Prashanth Neel.

Mythri Shashi said, “I told Kirtan during our initial discussions that this film was not meant for an 11 AM show, but for an 11 PM viewing experience. We conducted premieres with the producers’ approval, and the response was encouraging. The premieres played to packed houses, and yesterday also recorded full houses for its second shows. The number of shows is steadily increasing. It has now reached breakeven in just 2 days, including premieres.”

Director Kirtan revealed that the idea had been with him for a long time and that he had shared it with Prashanth. He began working on the script after Salaar, with Prashanth guiding him throughout the process, from the initial stages to the final version.

Producer Naveen said the response to 418 had been positive, with collections growing steadily each day. He described it as the first horror film from their banner and added that working with young talent and seeing a positive response was satisfying.

Producer Ravi spoke about the film’s technical quality, particularly its sound design, which he said contributes to the horror experience. He also recalled Prashanth Neel’s involvement in the sound design and other technical aspects, noting that five days of work helped improve the film’s presentation.

Reflecting on the genre, Ravi observed that horror films were once a regular feature of Telugu cinema, with several performing well at the box office. However, the industry’s focus on commercial entertainers gradually reduced the number of such films. He stressed the need to experiment with different genres.

He also shared a detail about the Fauzi glimpse, stating that the team had initially planned a different scene for Prabhas’ entry. “Since we were unable to complete the CG work for that portion, we decided to replace it with something else. The response to the intro scene has been positive, and we are pleased with it.”

418 continues its theatrical run, with the team reporting a positive response in multiplexes.
