The wait for the title of the much-anticipated Venkatesh-Kalyan Ram starrer is over. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film has been named January 12 Vidudala, a title that doubles up as a clever clue to its release plans. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 12, promising a laugh riot during the Sankranthi season.
Produced by Sahu Garapati under Shine Screens and presented by Suresh Productions, Smt. Archana and Zee Studios, the title reveal was designed as an extension of the director’s comic sensibilities. The announcement video opens with a nod to EVV Satyanarayana, whose work has been a major source of inspiration for Anil Ravipudi. A humorous reference to Appula Appa Rao establishes the mood before the proceedings move into the actual title reveal. What follows is an amusing exchange between the filmmaker and the principal cast.
Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty ask Anil about the name of their movie. His immediate response- January 12 Vidudala, leaves them baffled. They remind him that they want to know the title, not the date. The joke lands when Anil reveals that the phrase they mistook for a release announcement is, in fact, the film’s official title.
The announcement also introduces the caption- Bava Bammardi Soujanyamtho, which appears to underline the unique bond between the characters played by Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram. Their combination is expected to be one of the key attractions of the film.
By selecting January 12 for the theatrical release, the makers have positioned the movie squarely in the Sankranthi race. The timing is significant for Anil Ravipudi, whose films have enjoyed a strong association with the festive season. The new project therefore arrives with the advantage of both a star-powered cast and a strategically chosen release window.
