About 50% Hyd voters to lose their vote!

In the name of prunning the voters list, 18.30 lakh voters may lose their votes in Hyderabad district. Officials say, the recent verification had marked these votes for deletion on the ground that they have shifted residence or their houses were found locked.

There are 40.98 Lakh voters in Hyderabad and these deletions will be about 45-50% of them. These voters have to submit their Aadhar Cards for seeding to their votes. GHMC is entrusted the task of Aadhaar seeding in Hyderabad district as GHMC commissioner is designated as the district election officer

Given the strong affliation of GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar to the ruling party, there are allegations that votes of the settlers are being sidelined in the name of Aadhar seeding. They say that Booth Level Officers entrusted the task of door to door verification never really go to check and do the prunning work sitting in the offices.
