Aha Plans Massive Changes To Become Market Leader

Aha Video has been steadily beefing up its viewer-base. The Telugu-only OTT platform has been giving international OTT giants Netflix and Amazon Prime Video a run for their money in the Telugu market. The OTT platform has already lined up biggies like Love Story, Most Eligible Bachelor, Ghani, and others, which are expected to further boost its reach.

Up until now, Aha used to follow the upfront model when acquiring films and web series. Now, they are altering their business model, albeit categorically.

Aha is now incorporating the pay-per-view model. As a part of this program, film production houses can host their films on Aha Video and then get paid based on the total viewing minutes. Higher the viewing minutes, the higher the revenues for the production house.

Till now, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5 and other big platforms used to follow pay-per-view for a few of their acquisitions. Now, Aha Video is treading a similar path and it should help the platform in getting more acquisitions in the future.

Also, there have been a few complaints about the video and sound quality on Aha Video platform. They are addressing the same as they are set to introduce 4K video and 5.1 surround sound on the platform.

With such reforms, Aha Video aims to emerge as one of the undisputed mainstream OTT biggies in the regional OTT market.
