Akhil reaches trade expectations-beats Charan!

Years of wait for Akkineni fans came to an end yesterday with the release of Akhil. So what’s the verdict of the film critically and commercially? Did it meet the pre-release expectations?

Good news first, Akhil has managed to meet the commercial expectations of the trade with his debut outing. The trade had expected the film to cross 7 Cr mark and it’s exactly what Akhil did. Opening day number of the film has come around 7.5 Cr plus approximately which is not just a record among Akkineni family films but also among debut heroes in an all time sense. With this opening long standing Charan’s debut opening record has been broken.

The bad news here is the critical aspect of the film. It has not been liked by critics and word of mouth isn’t that good. Collections are therefore expected to drop in the coming days. Will it be drastic or regular drop is to be seen.
