Allu Arjun delivered peak commercial cinema with Pushpa 2 which turned out to be one of the highest grossing films in the history of Indian Cinema. But what followed later was rather unconventional choice with regard to his selection of director and the vibe of the film.
Allu Arjun is currently working with director Atlee who has the reputation of making winning commercial films despite facing criticism about copy pasting sequences from template potboilers.
While Arjun had the opportunity to work with commercially established and adequately knowledgeable Trivikram, he still decided to go with Atlee. This was the first risk that he took after the super successful Pushpa 2.
This is now followed by another big risk in terms of visual presentation of this film as the poster that was released today has an animate creature at the focal point.
This is in tune with the fact that the film is going to be an extremely futuristic sci-fi zone actioner with a whole lot of graphical elements.
The safe choice for Arjun here would have been to make a template commercial film with Atlee who, despite facing allegations about repetitive films, can cook up a potentially winning film. But he decided against this, and is now coming up with a new visual experience that relies a lot on graphics. This is the second risk that bunny took with the same project.
So the upcoming video material that could be coming out tomorrow on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday, will determine if these too big risks taken by Bunny is worth it or now. The responsibility is almost entirely on Atlee to fully utilise the potential of one of biggest heroes of this generation, Allu Arjun and cement his position in the elite league of Indian directors.
