As Allu Arjun celebrates his 44th birthday, his career stands at an unbelievable turning point.
Just 6-7 years ago, things were not looking great after the failure of Naa Peru Surya. At that time, other stars were clearly ahead. Then came Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which turned out to be a blockbuster, but it remained largely within the Telugu market. The real shift happened during the pandemic with Pushpa: The Rise in 2021, which made him a household name on pan-India level. That momentum exploded further with Pushpa 2, which shattered records and firmly placed him among the biggest stars in Indian cinema.
Now, he has reached the stage where it is not about rising anymore. It is about sustaining and proving it consistently. What makes this phase even more crucial is the scale of his upcoming lineup, with nearly Rs. 3000 crore riding on his shoulders.
His immediate next project is the Atlee film (AA22), backed by Sun Pictures, reportedly mounted on a massive Rs. 800 crores budget. With names like Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, and Mrunal Thakur being discussed, the film is expected to be a massive commercial spectacle.
Next, he teams up with Lokesh Kanagaraj (AA23), a Rs. 500-crore action entertainer backed by Mythri Movie Makers. Given Lokesh’s track record with intense storytelling, expectations are already sky high.
The most ambitious project in discussion is his reunion with Trivikram Srinivas, reportedly planned on a staggering Rs. 1000 crore scale with a mythological backdrop. However, there is still uncertainty, with Jr. NTR also being considered for that project.
Apart from these, Allu Arjun is also set to collaborate with Basil Joseph for his 25th film, a project under Geetha Arts.
This lineup clearly shows that Allu Arjun is entering the most defining phase of his career. He also has certain advantages over other pan India stars. Shah Rukh Khan is nearing 60, while Prabhas, despite doing multiple films, is facing doubts around consistency, agility, and physical limitations. Meanwhile, stars like Ram Charan and NTR are still searching for a pan India success on the scale of Pushpa.
Going forward, Allu Arjun will be competing with names like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh as well. But with such a strong and diverse lineup, he has a real opportunity to dominate this phase. Allu Arjun has age on his side, remarkable acting skills, he can dance like a dream, he is already popular all over India, and his lineup, on paper at least, looks great.
If Allu Arjun delivers consistently from here, this phase could define whether he joins the league of true legends in Indian cinema.
