Rajinikanth or SRK: Which Way Will Allu Arjun Go?

Allu Arjun’s 22nd film is shaping up to be the biggest and boldest project of his career. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, this high-budget entertainer is set to go on floors soon. The script is locked, and pre-production work is currently underway.

The film is said to feature five heroines. Each role is reportedly crafted to suit the story’s arc — a rare move even in big-star commercial films.

The real buzz, however, is about Allu Arjun playing a dual role — both hero and villain. While there’s no official confirmation, strong insider leaks suggest this twist is almost certain.

If true, it would place him alongside a select few who’ve pulled off similar roles — like Suriya in 24, Kamal Haasan in Abhay, Rajinikanth in Robo, and Shah Rukh Khan in Fan. While these performances earned huge praise, only a few — like Robo — turned into major box office blockbusters.

This film is expected to be a sci-fi commercial entertainer with a superhero-style theme. Atlee is reportedly designing a villain role unlike anything seen before in Indian cinema. The film will rely heavily on cutting-edge VFX, with international technical teams involved.

There are also rumors that a foreign actor might be cast as a mysterious antagonist. This adds even more intrigue to an already ambitious project.

With a targeted release in 2026, this will be the most expensive film of Allu Arjun’s career. The budget is said to exceed 600 crores.

Riding high on the success of Pushpa, Allu Arjun is personally involved in every stage of production to ensure the film matches global standards.
