She is a Kannadiga by birth and acted as heroine in many films and later switched on doing character roles in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. At the age of 49, this homely actress decided to take up direction and helm a Kannada film titled ‘Laxminarayanara Prapanchane Bare’

The script of her directorial debut is written by her husband Jyothi Prakash Atre who is also well experienced in theatre arts. It might be surprising to hear that she is turning director.
