Hrithik & Aamir as Rajinikanth’s Sidekicks Spark Outrage

Over the last few years, South Indian cinema has witnessed a change, where Bollywood superstars have opted to make cameo appearances, seemingly aiming to pull audiences in the Hindi market. However, it has not worked to a great extent so far.

After Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, the latest name to have entered the list is Hrithik Roshan after Jailer 2. Notably, the trend is now being questioned by the audience, with most of them asking whether it is necessary or it is just a way out for the filmmakers to make their movies a hot topic everywhere.

Social media users stated that although it is not a wrong thing to do, the cameos have not been extraordinary, and the one particular thing that has attracted criticism is portraying the Bollywood stars in an inferior position compared to the hero.

Some addressed the examples of Aamir and Hrithik, where the former was lighting Rajinikanth’s cigarette in Coolie, and the latter was kissing the superstar’s hands.

In most cases, the Bollywood stars are spotted working like a right hand for the hero of the film, and even fans are not ready to accept that anymore. A few others pointed out that the cameos are not even justified, considering the stardom of those Bollywood superstars.

The majority of the social media users addressed how the cameos of Aamir and Salman were wasted in Coolie and GodFather. The same people said that Bollywood stars should agree to do such cameos only if they have a bigger role or their characters are in a position equal to the South superstar, instead of being a fan or follower of the same personality.

Although Hrithik’s cameo in Jailer 2 has become a topic of discussion, a lot of people have asked why he decided to do it since he has better potential to leave an impression as a solo hero. Some others criticized his looks, saying that he needs a change now.

A section of fans have now even advised their favourite superstars to avoid doing cameos. The supporters stated that most of them are already going through a bad phase, and since they are well aware of the losses faced by Bollywood over the last two years, they should now focus on bringing their own good solo movies.

The same people asked the South filmmakers to either stop approaching Bollywood stars for cameos or prepare a two-hero film that will help both of them shine on screen while attracting the Hindi masses at the same time.
