AMB Victory brings IMAX to Hyderabad
Hyderabad is set to get IMAX back after a gap of more than a decade, with AMB Victory at RTC Cross Roads preparing to become a new premium cinema destination. The multiplex will feature seven screens, including an IMAX screen, and 4K RGB laser projection. Its massive screen is also claimed to be one of the largest in the country.
AMB Victory has also joined the UFO Cine Media Network, one of India’s major in-cinema advertising networks. The association will allow brands to reach audiences through on-screen advertisements.
However, IMAX is the biggest attraction.
Hyderabad has been without an IMAX screen since the iconic Prasads IMAX closed in 2015. Earlier this year, IMAX and Asian Cinemas announced three IMAX with Laser screens under the AMB Cinemas brand, including two in Hyderabad. The RTC Cross Roads property is expected to be the first to open.
The development is also significant because most premium multiplexes that came up in Hyderabad in recent years have been concentrated in newer areas such as Gachibowli and Kokapet. The growth of IT hubs and residential communities in these areas led to more premium cinema developments on the city’s outskirts.
AMB Victory will bring that experience back to the heart of Hyderabad, at RTC Cross Roads, which has been one of the city’s biggest cinema hubs for decades.
The timing is also important for Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi. The makers have indicated that Hyderabad audiences will get to experience the film in IMAX.
With the film scheduled for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027, AMB Victory could become a huge destination for its screenings.
