
Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal hit the marquee on the 1st of December amidst very good advance bookings. As a result, the film already had a cushion of good day 1 numbers, regardless of the reviews.
The film has opened to mixed-to-poor reviews for its overtly violent and intentionally provocative nature.

However, the film has started off on a superb note at the ticket counters with Rs 116 crores gross worldwide on its opening day. The Hindi nett is Rs 54 crores and the South Indian languages nett is around Rs 9 crores.
The film has collected $2.1 million and is expected to breakeven this weekend itself, meaning it could be a largely profitable venture for the buyers in the USA.

Animal is certain to have a fiery weekend at the box office and it all depends on how it fairs over the second weekend to assess the degree of theatrical profits it can amass, if any.
