Mani Sharma is a name that needs no introduction to the South Film Industry. In an illustrious career spanning nearly sixteen years, Mani Sharma has composed music to more than one hundred films in major languages. However, Mani who is fondly referred to as ‘Melody Brahma’ by his fans has found himself in the news this time for all the wrong reasons. A case of land-grabbing has been filed against him in a Chennai police station.
The story goes like this: Mani apparently owns some land near Chennai. However, the complainant alleged that Mani was also in possession of 73 cents of land adjoining to this which Mani was claiming as his and which belonged to the complainant. Unconfirmed reports say that the police who made a preliminary investigation have vindicated the stand of the complainant and filed a first information report (FIR).
Mani however evaded arrest by securing an anticipatory bail. As of now, there has been no official statement on the issue from Mani Sharma. Son of violinist, YN Sharma, Mani spent most of his childhood in Chennai.
