Chikiri Soars, but Rahman Reveals Deep Personal Pain

Fans often feel that AR Rahman has achieved everything a musician could dream of. He has an Oscar, global collaborations, and unmatched respect in India. His latest song Chikiri Chikiri from Peddi is also a strong chartbuster. But his recent podcast appearance revealed another side of his journey.

Rahman said he lost his personal peace while chasing musical perfection. He knew fame would bring attention, but he never thought it would interfere so deeply with his private life. He shared moments where he tried to enjoy time with his wife, only for fans to interrupt and ask for photos.

He said the constant demand for selfies from Indian fans becomes exhausting. It may look sweet at first, but it eventually crosses a line because celebrities also need space. Rahman opened up about how this pressure affected his personal life over the years.

After his divorce from Saira Banu, with whom he spent 29 years, Rahman realised how fame contributed to the disturbances at home. He still respects his fans and values his career. But in hindsight, he wishes Indian celebrities set clear personal boundaries like Western stars do.
