Atlee is currently busy promoting his next production, Baby John, with Varun Dhawan. While interacting with fans, Atlee was asked if he would make Jawan 2.
Atlee said he hasn’t thought about it yet, but it may happen later.
Jawan was an all-time blockbuster and one of the highest-grossing Hindi films ever, with a 1200 crore worldwide gross.
Despite its massive success, a section of the audience feels it’s a cringe-worthy movie that ran only because of Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom. It was a mishmash of many South Indian movies and lacked originality.
So, people, especially from the South, feel that Atlee thinking of making Jawan 2 must be some kind of a joke.
Fans, however, feel Shah Rukh Khan’s role as Vikram Rathore was a cult performance, and that role needs to have a spin-off.
When Bollywood can come up with mindless sequels like Housefull 5, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4, Tiger 3, Golmaal 5, and Welcome 3, Jawan 2 definitely sounds much better in comparison.
In an era when the Bollywood industry is thriving on sequels and franchise movies, Jawan 2 or Pathaan 2 is not a bad idea.
But Atlee should consider it only if he can crack a much better script for Jawan 2.
