Avatar 3 Advance Bookings: Massive Opening on Cards?

James Cameron’s highly anticipated release Avatar: Fire and Ash is shaping up to be a major event in Indian cinemas. The Avatar franchise ranks among the highest grossing films of all time, and Avatar: The Way of Water set new benchmarks during its theatrical run.

Advance bookings for Avatar: Fire and Ash have already crossed 70,000 tickets as of 15 December. If the trend continues, the opening could cross two lakh tickets, making it the biggest international opening this year across Indian theatres.

This puts the film ahead of other major international releases such as Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, Conjuring: The Last Rites, and Demon Slayer. Industry tracking suggests strong interest across metro and non metro centres.

The film releases on 19 December, and audience excitement continues to grow. Both English and dubbed versions are seeing rapid booking growth. At the same time, Dhurandhar has already delivered a strong start to December at the box office.

Trade experts remain unsure about how audience traffic will split. While both films cater to different audiences, Avatar: Fire and Ash is expected to draw early attention, which may slightly impact Dhurandhar during its initial release window.
