40 Long Months to Hit 400 Crores

Baahubali 2 has been one of the most anticipated sequels in the history of Indian cinema and it is no wonder that the film reached all new heights of popularity. Indeed, if the numbers are to by, Baahubali has already earned over 400 crores in its three weeks of release and is expected to easily cross over the 450 crore mark.

What is interesting about this figure is that it took Baahubali just 40 months, that is a little over 3 years to create the 400 crore club, while the gap between the 300 crore and 200 crore milestone was around 5 years! Interestingly, it was all Aamir Khan’s films that founded the 100, 200 and 300 crore clubs, more specifically Ghajini , 3 Idiots and PK respectively.

Even at present, Aamir Khan’s Dangal is doing very well and has crossed 1000 crore mark in its cumulative earnings and has become the first Hindi film to do so, after Baahubali 2, which is the first Indian movie to hit that mark!
