Baby’s Telugu connection beyond Rana

When did we last hear a Telugu voice in Bollywood or Hindi speaking circles? It was the voice of Saregama Indian Idol Sreeram. Though he earned pan India recognition, the singer somehow couldn’t exploit his hard earned fame in Bollywood. But here is one Telugu girl whose voice is silently climbing the charts of chartbusters.

Ramya Behara, a Telugu girl sang ‘Maine Tujse Pyaar Nahi Karti’ for Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati starrer ‘Baby’. The singer is very much excited because she had originally sung for the track but her voice is retained for the song in the film instead of opting for a popular voice in Bollywood. Telugu singers mostly are denied oppurtunities for not getting the Hindi accent right.

But Ramya says she got help from director Neeraj Pandey and lyricist to get her lines correctly with right accent. She also sang many superhit numbers for Telugu movies like ‘Oka Laila Kosam’, ‘Loukyam’, ‘Chinnadaana Nee Kosam’ and ‘Chakkiligintha’ and also upcoming movie ‘Temper’. All the best Ramya!
