Now, for the last couple of days, social media has been abuzz about the speculation that Balayya would be doing the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Aavesham which released recently and had a superb run.

Apparently, Balayya would be reprising the Ranga role played by Fahadh Fasil in the original.

Those who watched the original know that Fahadh was absolute ecstatic in the role. It isn’t the kind of a role that would test a nuanced actor but will instead require a live wire performance.

If at all, this Telugu remake happens with Balayya, it would be more like a celebratory film for Nandamuri fans.

Balayya is anyway super energetic and outward which is in tune with the Ranga character in Aavesham. Adding to this, there are countless fan moments in the film which can blow away the theaters in Telugu if Balayya does the film.

It could perhaps be argued that Balayya has the demeanor and personality to play Ranga and the chances are that this could well work.

But if at all the remake happens, a very capable director with mass pulse needs to helm the film. That’s the only way this commercial potboiler could work in Telugu.
