Hindupur MLA, prominent actor Nandamuri Balakrishna received the Padma Bhushan today from the President. What was striking and what caught the attraction of many was his attire.
Balakrishna wore the traditional pancha, kurta and kanduva for the memorable occasion. He was all smiles while receiving the honour.

Balakrishna or Balayya as he is fondly called received the award to mark his commendable contribution to cinema, politics and philanthropic work through NTR Trust. He is a constant support and inspiration for the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Facility in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
His family was with him as he received the award. Earlier in the day, a video went viral of his celebrations with close family and political friends in Delhi. He was his natural and humble self when he said people see the character and the message it gives, rather than Balakrishna as a person.

Balakrishna has also been striving to see to it that his father, the legendary actor-politician NTR, gets Bharat Ratna.
