It is an openly accepted thing among the trade and movie lovers that SS Rajamouli directed Baahubali starring Prabhas would be the biggest hit of the year. In fact entire trade is waiting to see if it can be the biggest of all time, an Industry Ht.
So that leaves us with few films that are competing for the second biggest hit of the year. So far the battle for the second spot was among Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan and Jr NTR keeping their upcoming films in mind. Jr NTR is now out of the race as his Temper has failed to give him the big grosser and his next releases in 2016. Now in his place we have a new contender Allu Arjun with the Trivikram Srinivas film Son of Satyamurthy.
Without any doubt the film at the announcement itself was among highly awaited one’s but not so much that it would be second biggest overtaking other films starring the likes of above three stars. But now post the audio release and massive promotions underway, the buzz on the film has increased tremendously and expectations have raised so much that many are even considering that SOS would not just be second biggest grosser of the year but also third biggest hit of all time.
Right now the only two films that are high up the anticipation meter for the rest of the year are Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu and Charan’s My Name is Raju. And these two films have directors who aren’t that hot at the moment which gives Son of Satyamurthy more edge to become the second biggest hit of the year. Let us see if Allu Arjun and Trivikram manage to pull off this incredible feat in the summer ahead.
