Yesterday the team of Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s Bholaa Shankar announced that the film is releasing on August 11th (Independence day weekend). The makers are hoping that the film will get a positive response and Bholaa Shankar will have the benefit of a 5-day long weekend as August 15th is on Tuesday
But the Independence weekend is already crowded with biggies which already have good hype among the audience.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is one of the most-awaited films of the year. Technically, Animal is going to be Vanga’s second film, and the audience is curious to witness what Vanga has to offer after the blockbuster Kabir Singh (Arjun Reddy).
Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma are teaming up for Gadar 2, the sequel to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time, Gadar. The film had footfalls of more than five crores in 2001, which is phenomenal and a dream for many films even to this day. There is this nationalistic wave going on in the country, and any well-made Pakistan-bashing film is going to do very well at the box office. So there are great expectations from Gadar 2, which is also releasing on August 11.
Then there is Vaccine War, directed by The Kashmir Files maker Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Aggarwal. This film will also attract a good number of cine-goers who appreciate Vivek Agnihotri’s kind of cinema.
Amid these biggies, Bholaa Shankar might get overshadowed. The film is suffering from less hype than the usual Megastar movies, as it is the remake of a 2015 Tamil film, Vedalam, and is directed by Meher Ramesh. If the makers stick to the August 11th date, then Bholaa Shankar has to be exceptionally good to emerge victorious at the box office.
