Blockbuster movie in One crore trouble

The movie has set up the standards high for other big films being made in India. Crossing the 600 crore rupees mark is something like a dream run for any film in the Indian Film Industry. The concept of fake godmen with it’s relevance to the religious system in the country has given ‘pk’ all the best of things in terms of box-office collections and critical acclaim.

While the critics are in awe of the ideas, thoughts and sequences presented in the movie, one Hindi novelist Kapil Isapuri approached Delhi High Court with charges of plagiarism of his ideas, characters and some sequences by the ‘pk’ technical team. He demanded one crore rupees as damage fee for copying from his novel ‘Farishta’ published in 2013.

While the court wonders on the possibility of two individuals nurturing the same kind of ideas at the same time, the novelist has a different argument. Certain sequences of the film are exactly lifted from Mr.Isapuri’s novel and even some characters are similar. Ideas might be similar but what about the similarity in sequences? Delhi High Court posted the case to September 5 and the film makers need to give their replies on or before the specified time.
