Bollywood Baadshah is unstoppable at the box office. He has followed up box office blockbuster Pathaan with his latest outing Jawan which is in turn going bonkers at the box office.
Jawan had a mega Rs 73 crore nett(Rs 65 crore in Hindi) opening in the Indian market on its first day – 7 September and it managed to post Rs 45 crore nett on its second day. There is a 30% drop and that is understandable, given that its a working day.
The film has collected Rs 110 crores nett in the Hindi belt alone. At this rate, the film is projected to have a mega Rs 230-40 crore opening weekend at the Hindi box office which is going to be an unprecedented number.
SRK is a mass superstar and his might is in full flow now. He has set a new all-time high record for upcoming prospective pan Indian biggest Salaar and Pushpa 2.
Salaar is also a mass actioner and moreover, it marks the coming together of two mass powerhouses Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. If the early trends in the Hindi belt are good, this could create a mass explosion.
Then there is Pushpa 2, which banks on the sequel advantage. The first part was a huge hit in Hindi and the penetration was deeper after the OTT debut. Sky is the limit for the sequel now.
But it would take some doing to better Jawan’s al-time record opening. It will also depend on the Hindi language openings of these films.
